Article 5 (theater)

In Article 5, the execution of prisoners is given a human face, as death row inmates describe their lives and crimes, interspersed with courtroom scenes and testimony from a lawyer, prison chaplain, prosecutor and the mother of a victim. Each of them—and all of us—end up with blood on their hands in this powerful indictment of the death penalty. A 7500-word, eleven-scene play aimed at the adult reader of dramatic fiction.

Horatio (theater)

Horatio' by Isabelle Assante: Winner, Falstaf Award 2007 - Best Adaptation & Dramaturgy.
Horatio is a sequel to Shakespeare’s Hamlet, written entirely with lines found in the 1623 Folio Edition of Hamlet. Only exceptions are the “To be or not to be…” lines which come from the First Quarto or “bad” quarto of 1603. Horatiotells the story of a man left with a legacy, one that, at first sight, could define the rest of his life. He is a man whose future is corrupted by someone else’s struggle. What one chooses to do to escape such a curse is very personal. And ultimately for Horatio that choice lies between life and death.
